Land for large country home site, retreat or horse property in Santa Fe county, New Mexico. This pristine property is only 35 minutes from Santa Fe, has incredible, breathtaking views of the southern Rocky mountains, the Jemez range, the Ortiz peaks and Los Cerrillos (little hills). This land is very pristine and private and has unobstructed views all the way to the horizon.
There is a "sacred spring" hidden in an arroyo with wild watercress growing below it on the southeast corner. This may have been the reason the pueblos were build there.
The land is covered with evidence of the Anasazi civilization, pot chards, arrow heads, matate's, and fire pits. It's dotted with the ruins of the stone houses of the abandoned Spanish village of Ortiz, New Mexico.
This would be a fantastic horse property or a nature lovers paradise. Because it is surrounded by large tracts of private land, it has become a haven for wildlife. It may be eligible for conservation easement status and the associated federal income tax credits.
You can see this property any time at your convenience. I keep four real gentle horses there. We can see it by car, walking or horse back.
This pristine land in Santa Fe county, New Mexico has breathtaking views of the southern Rocky mountains, the Jemez range, the Ortiz peaks and Los Cerrillos (little hills) yet it's only 35 minutes from Santa Fe. It has unobstructed views all the way to the horizon. It includes the old ranch headquarters, well, power, phone, outbuildings and corrals. This land would make an exceptionally beautiful, private county home site, ranch, horse property or nature retreat. It has an incredibly rural, country feeling for something this close to town.
It is completely private with the Silver ranch to the north, the 30,000 acre "Cook" ranch to the east, a gigantic ranch to the south and a few $1,000,000+ homes hidden in the hills on large tracts of undividable land to the west.
It has such breathtaking southwestern beauty that many movies have been shot on adjacent ranches.
The old ranch headquarters is from the cowboy era and is presently occupied by a ranching family. It would make a great caretakers/gate keepers house and a place to keep horses.
This would be a fantastic horse property or a nature lovers paradise.
The improvements consist of the old ranch headquarters (a very run down old house), some old corrals, at least one well, power, telephone, and miles of fencing. (The property was priced at $1,250 per acre without consideration for the improvements.)
You can see this land any time at your convenience. I keep four real gentle horses there. We can see the land by car, walking or horse back.
Approximately 1,860 acres of land south of Santa Fe, New Mexico. It has breathtaking views of several mountain ranges and is surrounded by other large ranches. This land is unique in that it is still an operating cattle and horse ranch. It's fairly close to Santa Fe, and could be used as a pleasure or horse ranch or a very private nature retreat.
It has breathtaking views of the Sangre de Christo range (southern end of Rockies), the Jemez range, the Ortiz peaks and Los Cerrillos (little hills). It's in two non-contiguous pieces of 1,020+/- acres with the old ranch head quarters, and an 840+/- acre tract that is very pristine, private and has unobstructed views all the way to the horizon. These Santa Fe, ranch lands are available separately, or the two tracts of land that would tie the ranches together are available from another owner.
From most parts of the ranch there is no sign of human habitation all the way to the horizon for 360 degrees.
Many movies have been shot in the immediate area.
You can see this ranch any time at your convenience. I have four real gentle horses on the ranch. So we could see it by car, or foot (long walk, bring a lunch), or on horse back.

Five acres of pristine land backing on the Santa Fe National Forest in the Rocky mountains. This rural land is up Cow Creek road, northeast of Pecos, New Mexico. It's about forty minutes from Santa Fe.
The property is on a private road with a locked gate. Further north, the Santa Fe National Forest includes the Pecos National Wilderness, a primitive, alpine area that can only be entered on foot or horse back.

This is a working cattle ranch thirteen miles south of Galisteo, and about 35 minutes south of Santa Fe, New Mexico.

The northern end of it has awesome views of the Sangres and there are views to the horizon in every direction. It highest and best use at this time would probably be as a developement of large recreational ranches or one huge private recreational ranch. It's very open country with magnificent vistas.

The famous Grey Ranch, which is in a "conservation easement" lies to the south and west. The land is the flat area, at the entrance to a canyon, at the base of Rough Mountain.
